Welcome,
This post I am reflecting on the highs & lows of 2009.
What a year of total transformation it has been. I have learnt many, many things which I see as wonderful gifts now.
The year started so well with my ticking of so, so many things from my intended list of achievements. Absolutely everything was going so well & smoothly for the first 6 months. Then in the end of May things started to change.
If I back track back to March I become very sick with a flu that was going around. I was ill in bed for 10 days & it really took a good month for me to get over it. I have not been that sick for at least 10 years.. it was at this point I knew things were about to change dramatically in my world. 3 months later & right on cue they did!
The end of May I had to move out of where I was living at the time with only 3 weeks notice. I had been there for over 8 years which has been the longest I have ever lived anywhere, even as a child. Just weeks before I found out I was moving I had just bought a flat full of beautiful new furniture. I took my time to select each piece & was so excited with it all. Interestingly enough when I really looked at all this new furniture it didn't suit this particular apartment. Suffice to say the last piece arrived the day before my move! So it was a matter of packing everything up & putting it all into storage.
I took this opportunity to sail in unchartered waters for a little while & was happy to be transient until the end of this year. And that has certainly been the case as I am about to move again next weekend. In January I will be making my living arrangements with a permanent place to live.
What has been fascinating about this whole experience is I just went with the flow of everything. I haven't stressed too much about the external instability that was going on & really surprised myself at how calm I remained considering the circumstances. Not only did I have to find somewhere for me to live but I had also acquired myself a cat in April of this year! And I was getting The Wholesome Food Coach off the ground at the same time.
As each house sitting gig ended another one fell into my lap & incredibly commenced the day I had to leave the previous one. So I had pure examples of harnessing faith & trust. I could still operate my business from my laptop so I wasn't hugely inconvenienced moving around.
At the same time business was getting busier & busier with lots of Media interviews & interest for The Wholesome Food Coach so it really wasn't the best time to be moving all over the city. Or was it?
I must admit I had wanted things to be shaken up a bit & I had asked for change in 2009 & I certainly got it. As there have certainly been a few challenging moments through out this whole time but in saying that it has given me the time to really get clear on how I want to shape my life. I was living in complete faith persuing my dream. Not always an easy place to be but I am so glad I did.
My health even started to go hay wire which I am not used to happening. My weight increased, my wrist went & I couldn't even pick up a cup of coffee, my lower back was in pain & then my knee went. I could hardly walk there for a while. As I sat back & reflected I just had to rest. My body wouldn't physically let me move so there wasn't any other choice but to stay still & listen to my inner thoughts! I felt so out of sync in every aspect of my life & my finances definitely reflected all of this just to add more pressure!
Through out some of the personal challanges that were taking place it allowed me to revamp & practice what I am preaching in my business. There were times I was looking at my diet & all I was eating was crap & of course feeling awful because of it. I couldn't exercise because my body was in pain. Then I experimented. When I felt my worse I upped my intake of greens & kept a religious ritual of having my Green Smoothie every single morning with a tsp of Spirilina. At the time it didn't feel as though it was doing me any good but it really was. As my body was 'breaking' down so to speak I went to the Dr & had some blood tests just to make sure nothing serious was manifesting in my body. And as it turns out everything came back incredibly healthy & in the high healthy range. My Chiro did some kinesiology checks on my physical state & I was absolutely fine. All of this turmoil was about me releasing stored & old toxic emotions. Wow I got such a shock at how old negative & toxic emotions manifest in our bodies. Of course I have heard & read about it but when you experience it yourself it is all different somehow.
Now I have to say I am so grateful that all of this happened to me this year because I have learnt so, so much. I have been humbled in many ways because of what has happened & I have also been able to learn so much more about how our bodies work & the importance of healthy eating, exercise what foods to avoid & what foods to eat more of in times of turmoil. And to have a strong support network around you during these times is really crucial in many, many ways.
It has also meant some reshaping for The Wholesome Food Coach & the direction I intend to take for 2010. Now I have clarity in moving forward not only because of my experiences but because of the experiences so many of my clients have been through & what their needs are.
2010 is going to be a magical year for not only myself but for othes as well.
Remember to be kind to yourself, eat as healthily as you can, exercise regularly & keep the faith as everything is as it is meant to be.

The New Business Growth Surge
Welcome,
Wow it really has been a while since my last post!
Time can really fly sometimes without you even realising it.
So much has happened since that last post & most of which has been awesome.
The Wholesome Food Coach has been featured in quite a few magazines over the last few months which has been very exciting. Not all of the articles are on my site yet but I am hoping they will be shortly. I was featured in Woman's Day, Raw Living & Women's Network Australia, all printed magazines. It is always nice to see articles in print as well as online.
So with that exposure I have been inundated & very busy keeping up with everything & everyone. I've met so many amazing & inspiring people along the way as well some who have become new clients & others who are wonderful new colleauges & friends.
I've also become certified as an NLP Practitioner & in January I am going to complete my NLP Master Practitioner Training. I'm really looking forward to it as it is going to allow me to offer you so much more in our Coaching Sessions. I love working one on one with clients & to see their confidence & repertoire grow so quickly in such a short time frame is truly magical. So in 2010 there will be extra magic added!
In 2010 I will be adding new Coaching Programs which include one on one as well as Group Coaching options. It is always so rewarding see new bonds & synergy formed within these groups. In September 2010 I will be collaborating with a colleauge to run a beautiful Retreat where it will be 5 days of amazing & healthy food. I will be keeping an eye on the food served & creating the menus myself to make sure you are eating like a King or Queen! There will be activities like yoga, hiking, swimming, a day spa & free time so you can really unwind. We will include cooking & raw food demonstrations as well as suggestions on how best to nourish yourself & your family through nutrition.
The first Telephone Group Coaching Circle is going to kick off in February with my "21 Days to Wholesome Transformation". I will be posting more details soon on my website & through my ezine.
2010 is already shaping up to be a very exciting year for The Wholesome Food Coach & I am so looking forward to helping & seeing many of you transform your lives in ways you never thought possible.
Until next time take care & stay healthy.

Spring is here..
Welcome,
It is the beginning of Spring today & the end of hibernation in the Southern Hemisphere!
It seems for many people Winter is a time for introspection & reflection. It is a great time to reasses & decide what it is that you want for Summer & the New Year.. a time to make plans quietly as you catch up on much needed rest at the same time.
I use the Winter months to do all of the above. I usually stay pretty quiet in anticipation for what is ahead. How about you? How do you usually handle your winter?
Do you catch up or are you a keen skier & spend as much time on the slopes as you can?
Now that it is Spring & the days are gradually becoming longer & warmer it is always so much easier to eat lightly. I've been experimenting with Raw Foods off & on for just on a year now & I've realised the best option for me is making the most of both worlds. During winter it wasn't as healthy for me to eat all raw. My body craved & needed some warming foods as well. When you are making changes to your diet it is best to do so intuitively because you will soon feel what is right & what is not. You just won't feel 100% within yourself & that was me.
Yes there are definitely many benefits of eating an all raw food diet but you do need to be careful at the same time because it isn't something that suits everyone.
Work was still very busy last week & the pressure was still on so my embarking in the 7 days of Raw Food just didn't work for me. I tried but it just wasn't that easy. Funnily enough I did want to wait until today in the beginning being the first day of Spring & as it turns out I have decided to start again this moring. I like to plan for these things properly so that is what I have done for this week.
I found this great little recipe to help you boost cleansing your colon for first thing in the morning. We need to cleanse the sludge from our colon so any healthy eating plan can work effectively.
Try this to get things going!
Lemon & Cayenne Drink
2 tbls fresh lemon juice
1 pinch cayenne pepper (helps to melt away fat!)
1 cup warm water
Then all you need to do is drink!
Here's to releasing that winter sludge....
Have a fabulous week.

The Smell of Spring in the Air...
Welcome,
What a wonderfully exciting time it has been over the last 14 days really.
The Wholesome Food Coach business is moving to a new level & I am really excited about it too. I've been doing my best in keeping up to date with your emails so if I fall behind a little please be patient. I will get back to you asap & please keep sending them as it lovely to be able to meet you.
As of tomorrow I have decided to do my 21 day raw program. I haven't been as diligent with my eating habits as I would have like to & have felt all over the place a bit emotionally because of it. I was so busy & feeling quite stressed I found myself going into default eating? Have you ever been able to relate to that? We are strange creatures at times, sometimes fighting ourselves & doing the opposite to what really makes us glow & feel so good at times. Or maybe this is just me? Sometimes it takes a few repeated lessons to learn what I need to learn & a foggy head certainly doesn't help! Anyway, now it is time for me to get things back in order & have an internal spring clean. The thing is I feel so amazing when I devote my meals to a balanced raw & living foods diet that I wonder why & what on earth happened to make me go off track?
I've set some more pretty big goals with the launching of new products over the next few months & the best way I know to be able to get everything done is to keep my body as clean internally & externally as possible. Not only that, eating raw foods certainly keeps your brain ticking with absolute clarity & you are filled with new creative ideas which is what I am looking forward to most.
I will write a little about how these next 7 days go as there are always up & down moments when you leave out those sabotaging foods. When clearing out toxins they are not only the toxins from your body but also from your emotions. I've written a 21 day program that will be run as a teleseminar so this is my last minute check by retesting what I have written which includes journalling to make sure I am able to give you the best I can possibly give you.
A great perk of my occupation I literally get to taste test first!
This weekend has been total bliss here in Sydney & yes once again I am fortunate enough to be able to pop over to the beach. Spring is definitely here as it is so warm & tonight I can smell the divine smell of flowers from the garden wafting in through the window. Especially jasmine. Gardens everywhere are now becoming full flowers & they just look so beautiful when out walking.
Soon it will be time to dry out some rose petals, crush them & then put them into a delicious summer drink. And even make a rose petal sorbet. yummm.. I'll post these recipes closer to Summer in my ezine.
If you want to sign up to my ezine as well as receive a FREE copy of my Wholesome Juices & Smoothies ebook then I would love to have you part of our community. In the ezine you will receive nutritional info on a chosen seasonal food with it's health benefits & a recipe so you can use the that ingredient straight away. You will also get a heads up on new products & special offers. If you haven't signed up yet you can do so here: http://www.thewholesomefoodcoach.com.au/
Until next week I hope you all have a very juicy week & stay healthy.

Managing Stress
Welcome,
How time flys yet again!
Wow we are into the middle of August already!
So now the adventures of The Wholesome Food Coach continue & this time in French's Forest. For those of you who don't know Sydney, this is on Sydney's Northern Beaches so I am only a 10minute drive to Dee Why & Curl Curl Beaches.. ahhh...
Today has been the most divine day so naturally some much needed R & R was had by walking along the beach for a couple of hours & really taking in that beautiful fresh ocean air.
What an extraordinary year this has been & in so many ways!
This year's focus as you would be aware is about building The Wholesome Food Coach. I absolutely love working on it creating new ideas, recipes & products to make your life easier in the kitchen. It has invoked that inner passion I had inadvertently put away for a little while & feels so amazing to have let the genie out of the bag & taste it again!
In saying that I have had to really watch my stress management lately as I have been working so hard on focussing on my 'goal's that I have let other things go so my health was starting to suffer. So this weekend has been about honouring other aspects of my life to keep the energy of passion alive.
I've been looking around the city lately & listening to many people & they sound as though they are suffering similar things. So many people seem to be so stressed these days. Is this happening to you? Are you feeling some niggling feelings that something isn't quite that is a pure product of stress?
Are you busy trying to achieve various things in your life that some areas have become out of balance? Or are you simply trying to cope with keeping your job & head above water? The effects of the stock market appear to be really affecting people on all sorts of levels & mostly their health even more so now.
I encourage you to take a deep breath & step back for a moment. Usually you can sense things are getting a bit hectic so instead of exercising you put it off until tomorrow but then the next day comes & you don't have time then either. Exercise is such a good way to keep those stress levels down. Although it may not be exercise for you it maybe doing something with a loved one or finding the time for a day in nature, massage or finishing that favourite book you have been meaning to do.
If you are feeling stressed at the moment here are some simple tips that can help you if you need some nurturing & a little stress management.

- go for a 5 - 10min walk or longer during lunch time at work if you are feeling overwhelmed to clear your head
- spend some time in nature
- have some play time with your children or pets being as silly as they are & have a good laugh
- include more raw greens into your diet as they have a calming effect on you
You can start with any one of these or maybe you have your own suggestions that you can email me so I can share with everyone else.
I hope these tips are able to help manage any stress that you maybe feeling & just remember prevention is better than cure & be kind to yourself.
Remember to smell the roses.

Across the Harbour from Bondi to Waverton..
Welcome,
The adventures of The Wholesome Food Coach continue..
This time I am writing from a suburb in Sydney's Northshore, Waverton. It is the lower Northshore & the view here is totally divine... It overlooks the city & aspects of the Harbour which at night is spectacular! Gee dreams do come true & not always necessarily in the way we sometimes think they should! Never the less if it is for our highest good they do indeed happen. Yes I wondered what it would be like living in an apartment overlooking Sydney Harbour. Needless to say I have realised that as beautiful as it is I wouldn't like to have this view permanently... the city doesn't stop & the lights are on all night. I find it is too busy for me... yet I do appreciate how fortunate I am to experience this.
A few months ago I acquired the most beautiful little pure white cat. Actually when I think about it when she turned up into my life everything changed! And I mean everything.
She turned 1 a few weeks ago & she has definitely found her way into my heart! Her name is White Puss & she is completely deaf. Yep totally. I accidently dropped a stainless bowl onto a tiled floor right behind her & absolutely no reaction at all whatsoever. Yes I did have some fun & games with her when she first moved in. Seriously how does one get the attention & find a deaf cat?
So now it really is the adventures of Jul & White Puss. We both have our little back packs & off we go both living the life of Bohemians... lol... it does all feel a bit surreal at times.. but we both are really enjoying our adventures & she has become my partner in crime!
Ooh I have some really exciting news!
In the very near future a couple of articles will be in print for some of Australia's leading magazines about my experience & use of Raw & Living Foods. I am so, so excited & I feel honoured at the same time to have been asked to explain things as I experience it with regard to Raw Food. We all have different yet similar experiences at the same time so I am more than happy to share my knowledge thus far. Once it is printed it will be posted onto my website for those of you who may not see it or are OS.
Now that it is the depths of winter I have found the most frequent question I am getting is how can you live on raw foods in the winter? Good question & a couple of years ago I would have thought anyone doing this would be stark raving mad!
Well funnily enough I find breakfast & lunch is ok but dinner can be a different story. What I am having for dinner is either lightly steamed vegetables or roasted vegetables with marjoram or rosemary or thyme... ahh you can beat the smell of them wafting through the house. Or I will throw some vegetables into a pot like an onion, celery, carrot, capsicum, broccoli etc.. with some water. Bring it the boil & simmer gently for 5mins. & then into the blender & season it with salt & pepper. I flavour it with 2 kaffir lime leaves for something a little different. Okay so technically this is killing the all important enzymes, that I understand. However, the way I see things for me is breakfast & lunch are pretty much raw so it is okay to have something cooked for dinner. When I do cook my food I don't ever cook the vegetables all the way through. I prefer to have crunch in my vegetables & so greatly reduce the cooking time. Or even if you are having a raw soup or substantial it maybe easier for you to slightly heat you bowl before putting your food into it. This works well with soups & serve them at room temperature. Otherwise you can warm foods with a dehydrator. Do whatever suits your body, it will know so trust your intuition on this. I know that this suits me & my lifestyle.
On another note I have been busy completing some ebooks which will be available for purchase on my website at the end of this month. I have written a new salad ebook called "Wholesome Salads - 30 Delicious, Quick & Easy Recipes for a Vibrant New You..."
This has been in the works for a little while now & I am glad to see it almost completed. You will see there are salad recipes in here that are raw & other recipes that can be adapted & cooked or still prepared & eaten as raw salads. The choice will be yours. It has been a lot of fun creating it I must say, so I hope you enjoy reading it.
I have also written some smaller ebooks to help get you started on Raw Foods. These have different themes such as a successful weightloss program, another that focusses on you feeling & looking good & an ebook that focusses on family cooking. All of these ebooks are designed to be easy to use, practical, have menu plans with recipes & also contain interesting information. This have been written for you keeping in mind you may be at the very beginning of your journey. So I will be interested in your feedback & hearing of your successes.
My next workshop for those of you in Sydney is going to be Sunday 16th August so if you are free I would love to see there.
Here are the details: http://www.julie-annbooth.com/events.php

Until next time take care.

Time in Bondi
Welcome,
I can happily say I am writing this as I sit facing Bondi beach. It is the most beautiful & sunniest day today with very few clouds in the sky. The sea gulls are lurking above waiting to dive bomb into anyone's fish & chips! The surf is quite small at the moment, however, there are of course always the die hard surfers out there waiting for 'the' wave!
It is moments like this when I truly appreciate living in Paradise! Especially when the beach is on my door step as it is right now! Universe I say thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!
It is so cool being here in Bondi I must say. It has a completely different feel to where I was on the north shore that's for sure. Here I am in walking distance to the cafe & juices bars. Actually across the road! All of which are packed with locals by the way. The bliss of it being winter, no annoying tourists! No offence to tourists but I am sure most of you understand what I mean.. They can enjoy being in warm & sunny Qld so we Sydney siders can enjoy here!
What I have really noticed is that the place is always buzzing now & this is winter for us. There is always something going on. People are either out walking, jogging, training, swimming or catching up with friends.
You know I think it really is so much easier to live a healthier lifestyle when you are by the beach. It's different somehow, it is just what you do, get out & about. I know I just want to be out & about more, all the time.
Even if you go for a 20min walk no matter where you are you can feel so much better. Your head clears & your heart says thank-you. So don't forget to do that now ok... :)
I've also discovered some really great places which supply some fantastic organic food & produce. I have a workshop on Tuesday night which I am very, very excited. I really love running them too. It is going to be a fabulous little class as I am keeping the numbers limited so it will be more personalised for each participant. What is even better I can support the local providores as well because everything I will be using will be local organic produce. I keep each class a little open in the fact that sometimes I cannot get the produce I needed so there is usually some sort of improvisation happening & not always from choice... but hey this keeps it all real & invariably helps the particpants knowing that it is ok to change things at the last minute when they can't get something they thought they needed.
As much as I would love to keep writing I have plenty to do in organising Tuesday's Class so if you are in Sydney & would like to come along I would love to see you there. Follow this link for details http://www.thewholesomefoodcoach.com.au/events.php
Until next time have a wonderful week & for those of you coming on Tuesday I look forward to seeing you there.

After the Busy Time
Welcome,
Wow what a few weeks...
I can happily say I am settling nicely into Bondi Beach. Actually so much so I've realised that I would like to move back there. It has really changed over the years & now there are so many cute cafes & wine bars that have to be tested! Oh & of course Juice Bars too...!
As I mentioned in my last post whenever I am stressed or busy my metabolism seems to go into an automatic default of shutdown. Why? Who knows that is way to science related for me at the moment as I just want to know how I can change this NOW! Have you ever felt that way?
What I have done differently this time has really made a difference to how I am feeling overall. I've totally accepted that I am going to be Gypsy for a few months & in fact I am really looking forward to it. I suppose it is a test run for all my travelling I plan to do next year! I have changed my perspective on many, many things & importantly I have stopped trying to control situations. With a combination of this & conscious food choices I really have made a difference to how I have been able to manage all that has been going on for me. I have been able to remain focussed & clear headed.
As far as diet is concerned I have tweaked this as well. Instead of having a potentially heavy meal in the evenings I have been living on soups for the last couple of weeks. For those in the Northern Hemisphere it is getting really cold over here now so Raw food for each meal just isn't as appealing. Something that is easy & kind to my digestive system at the same time. I have also been making myself even though I haven't felt like them my Green Smoothies. I at times stop & start with these & when I have them I notice such a huge improvement on how I feel overall. I feel calmer, I crave less sugar, less caffeine & my energy levels boost. The best way to sum up how I feel when I have them is I feel balanced. Much better than medication that's for sure. For some recipes ideas pop over to my website http://www.thewholesomefoodcoach.com.au/
What works for me is fruit for breakfast, a light salad or salad sandwich for lunch & soups for dinner. Mainly vegetable soups but the vegetables are only cooked for a very, very short period of time. I will add this to my June recipe addition on my website.
How about you? Do you know what your body default is when you are stressed? And how do you normally handle that? What are your bad habits that you go into without thinking about them? I encourage you to become aware of them & ask yourself "how can I be kinder to myself through food choices".
If you have any problems with this then let me know as I would love to hear from & help you. Email me at julie-ann@thewholesomefoodcoach.com.au
Until next time have a very safe & happy time.

A Busy Time
Welcome!
Ooh after me talking about having such a relaxing time I am now thinking just as well.. because the last few weeks have been so, so hectic!
I am having a fabulous time writing new products for www.thewholesomefoodcoach.com.au and I am about to launch the first of many cooking/food preparation classes Get Wholesome! here in Sydney. I am really, really excited about running them as well. I have had people ask me so many times and here they are finally! So now you can start learning some of my tricks of the trade in a short time that has taken me years to master! Go to my website for details.
In the middle of all of this I have just found out that my landlord wants me to vacate my apartment! whoa... totally unexpected on my part and I need to be out within 21 days. Just when things are going along so smoothly as well here I am thrown a curve ball. As if I needed more on my plate right now! Have you ever had that feeling?
As the saying goes the universe only gives us what we can handle.
I have had time to reflect on what has been presented to me and actually this is absolutely perfect. I asked for change and here I have it, I have been given what I asked for. So in actual fact I am really, really excited about this new adventure of mine! I haven't got a clue how everything is going to pan out but I am surrendering to the powers of be and allowing things to unfold as they are meant to.
What I do know is that I have been blessed with so many offers from friends and colleagues to move in with them until I decide where I am going to live next. It has been the most wonderful feeling and I am so grateful to each and every one of you for your generous offers. Thank-you. :)
Now there is one pattern that my body always falls into like a default setting really. Whenever I am feeling stressed about something I automatically put on weight. I think I have put on over a kg this past week and no I haven't been bingeing uncontrollably either. It is just the way my body works. At times I have found this incredibly frustrating & infuriating but it is just the way my system works by storing everything and I have come to accept this.
Instead of beating myself up about it now I am kind and treat myself even more. I have a facial or a massage or a soak in a hot tub with some lavender oil to relax. I now don't eat when I have that anxious feeling because my digestive system just can't cope. So instead I wait a little while then I eat something light and so I feel so much better. My body thanks me too!
There is something that is truly amazing for me on the side of all of this and I am so looking forward to seeing what shows up! Universe thank-you.
How about you? How do you react and respond when you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed? Do you know what your default setting is? Do you get angry with yourself or are you kind to yourself during times of stress?
As this raw food journey continues all sorts of things come to the surface to be released on all levels. And that is such a good thing. Because it is some of these negative default settings that can prevent us from truly living the lives we dream of. It all becomes too much and too hard to deal with so we shrink back into our old habits and shells. Whereas in actual fact if we put up with the discomfort for just a little bit longer then we experience that freedom we all yearn for.
As so many people right now are going through so much upheaval in their lives here are a couple of tips I recommend for you if this includes you:
1. Soak in a bath with your favourite essential oil and place some rolled oats into an old sock and tie the sock up. Now place the sock into the bath and allow it soak and you use this as your soap. It has the most beautiful feeling on your skin it really does..
2. Have a green smoothie and put lots of greens into it with a teaspoon of spirulina powder as well. This morning I intuitively added some frozen blueberries and raspberries as my body was asking for anti-oxidants.
3. Listen to your body, heart and soul and nourish it with whatever it asks you for. This maybe as simple as a hug from your partner, a belly laugh with someone close, a massage or even a walk in the fresh air.
I hope this week's post helps you unwind in some way as it can be too easy to forget to take care of us.
Until next week, stay happy and healthy!

A Relaxing Time
Welcome!
Ahh my break away at Easter was pure magic..
The calling of the fresh country air & beaches gave me the much needed rest & relaxation I so desperately needed.
It was a weekend of unexpected total pampering & indulgence...
I have come back feeling & looking like a new woman. Yes really.
My neice decided I needed an 'extreme makeover'.. mm now that sounds a bit worrying doesn't it?
Fortunately in her definition I didn't require plastic surgery! Well not that she told me anyway!
All that was really required apparently was a new hair cut, colour & facials.. phew...
My nephew gave me the haircut with Mum's blunt kitchen scissors.. so yes I have a very stylish new blunt cut look.. they have done a great job too!
Enjoying some time at the beach with that delicious ocean air & sea spray smothering you really does wonders for your soul. Oh & yes I certainly did get my belly laugh that I knew I somehow would have! Oh dear & I'm sorry I don't think it will be appropriate to tell the story here as a certain family member didn't think the incident very funny at all.. but my goodness Mum & I did. Oh & no, no-one got hurt!
This week it is going to be time for me to get stuck into writing my next book. It is going to be absolutely beautiful as I certainly have an incredible team working with me on my projects now. What I can say is, it is going to be a recipe book with recipes of Salads. They can be used as Raw Food Salads & or Salads that you can blanch the vegetable if you are new to raw food.
More on this later...
Because I have been working so hard & sitting so much writing, I have unfortunately gained an undesireable 5kg... yep OUCH! within the last 6 months. So yes I am fessing up to this mere inconvenient scenario & am ready to shed this now.
In all fairness I was finding it difficult to juggle absolutely everything. So I could stay totally focussed on The Wholesome Food Coach, I had to let something fall by the way side temporarily which became my cardio & exercise routine. Don't get me wrong I have been exercising but obviously not doing the right sort or enough. So looking very carefully at my diet I have admitted to myself that I can tweak one or two things there. I am one of those unfortuntate people who when they smell fattening food I somehow gain a kg or 2 in weight without even eating it! grrr...
I shall add a brief weekly update & share with you how I am going. I will also be sharing some recipes I create over the next 5 weeks with you so I hope this can help you or a loved one as well.
I hope you have a wonderful week this week.

The Fun Begins
Welcome!
Wow what a juicy week I have had!
It has been so, so much fun.
And to top it off my Divine Website has been launched into the world of Cyber Space. Yeah..
http://www.julie-annbooth.com/
So things are certainly going to get juicer & juicer as time goes on now while I serve you, hear your stories & guide you to transition from where you are now with your health to where you want to be.
Now this is where & when the true magic begins!
I thank those of you who have taken the time & given me feedback on my website. It has really been appreciated especially with all the hard work that was involved in getting it off the ground. Every single bit of time and effort put into it has certainly been worth it.
I especially thank Corey Bell from The Factory Creative who designed it. Corey was able to bring my vision to a reality & so much more. This project has been one of the most inspirational, FUN, creative and rewarding experiences I have had in such a long time! I have learnt so much as well from Corey with regard to building an internet business & taking things to the next level. Apparently "it's all about mixing things up and making it pop!"
These have been sure fire signs that I AM doing the right thing with building The Wholesome Food Coach. In whatever I do it must be fun for everyone involved.
I must admit before Corey was recommended to me I wondered why on earth the universe was giving me so many delays in getting my website up and running. Seriously how hard could it have been? Gee the frustration and angst I was starting to feel was driving me mad. But alas in that time I was able to become clearer within myself of who I am becoming and what I want from this business so as a result I have given myself a stronger foundation for success now. Perhaps I was unconsciously trying to control something that I really didn't really have control of. No matter things are bigger and better than I could have ever envisaged!
So the fun really became apparent with this project!
Speaking of fun. Easter is fast approaching and I have decided to up the ante and add bucket loads more fun to my life! Things have been too serious & I have been working too hard. So I am going away and will be spending time with my neice and nephew where we are guaranteed to have fun. We always manage a good belly laugh and unfortunately it is usually at my expense! They of course reassure me by saying they are laughing with me but I know they are really laughing at me!
Oh so be it... I can't help it if I can naturally make a fool of myself can I?
I wish you and your families a very Happy Easter.
Safe travels if you are going away somewhere.
Until next week.
With love, warmth and radiance

Exploring New Horizons
Welcome!
What is it about the world's great pioneers that prompts them to consider what could be achieved and explored beyond their own horizons? Faced with conundrums and personal challenges, the likes of Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, Michelangelo, Thomas Edison, Escoffier, Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith, Monet, Picasso, Sir Richard Branson, Frank Lowy and so many other world greats past and present. These were & are all people ahead of their time who, thanks to their determination, focus and passion have left an indelible impression on our world of today.
I write this because I am in the process of Exploring my own New Horizons & where this is going to lead I haven't got a clue but I certainly am having a heck of a great time so far that's for sure!
Yes it has been a little scary, frustrating, lonely, perhaps dark & damn hard work but there is something inside me that is yearning to go to this new place. All I know is that I have to follow my heart & my passion.
I have that buring desire again.
The fire in my belly is well & truly lit.
It's time to fly and see where it takes me.
I am blessed as so many gorgoeus people are magically showing up in my life, guiding me & patiently showing me how to get to the next step. This confirms I am doing the right thing. I have been in this space before so I understand what is going on. However, what is different this time is that I am appreciating the journey more so instead of only being focussed on the destination. I am fortunate to have had the absolute luxury of having some pretty phenomenal experiences last time that I could not have ever envisioned so I know that this time once again things are going to be pretty darn amazing!
Twelve months ago I had the desire to work for myself again. I loved my full time job & still do but I yearned for something more. Although I didn't know exactly how I was going to do this. I couldn't go back to doing Dinner Parties for people again because the 6am start at the markets & 12pm finish for the functions gave me that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I had completely burnt out.
This time I needed to be smarter in how & what I set up so it benefits me & also you. So basically that is how The Wholesome Food Coach was created!
The journey has been absolutely wonderful. It took me to London & Paris last year where I caught up with old friends & made some new ones. I love Paris & who doesn't really! As I was sitting on the grass under the Eiffel Tower with my chunk of Brie & Baguette on a beautiful Autumn Paris day I knew that this was the beginning of many more special moments. So far I've met so many amazing people both in Australia & overseas, I've learnt about setting up an internet business, I have laughed & cried with friends and I have learnt even more about preparing & eating healthy foods.
All this is simply the beginning because I have a burning desire to explore new horizons..
Exploring new horizons can be as big or small as you choose.
Have you thought about what exploring a new horizon maybe or mean for you?
It doesn't always have to be about fame & fortune or making world changes. Perhaps exploring a new horizon for you is to doing something different with your loved one or family on a Sunday. Maybe leaving work on time one day a week instead of putting those extra one or two hours in for free. Explore seeing a movie that you wouldn't normally see. Try a different restaurant & type of food instead of the same one time & time again. Maybe a bolder New Horizon has been calling you like a trekking holiday in Katmandu!
It helps knowing that so many people have walked this path before us. I know it does for me. It has it's highs & lows. But we are going to experience those in life anyway so why not have them while persuing something you are passionate about. Some people have in my mind HUGE dreams & others have dreams that a little off centre because it suits their personality. I include myself there. And others dream of having more time with their family or getting a new pet.
Whatever your dream is go & explore those new horizons for you & see what happens. They usually turn out to exceed any expectations way beyond what you could ever have imagined for yourself.
Here is the link to my new beautiful website which is where I have extended & stretched myself in search of exploring new horizons.
Feel free to take a look around & enjoy the experience. I would love to hear your feedback.

Tides of Change
Welcome!
Almost 2 weeks ago I started to feel the symptoms of a cold or maybe flu coming on & since I've changed my diet to a high raw diet I thought hey, I can nip this in the bud easily. After all I haven't been sick with a cold or the flu in over 2 years. And I have had had better health since making these changes to my diet. So I was pretty confident I'd be over this thing within a few days.
My full time job had quietened down so it was a good time to be sick & I wouldn't have inconvenienced anyone too much by staying home sick.
The first day I felt pretty ordinary so stayed quiet at home drinking my juices & smoothies etc.. I pulled one of my Goddess cards & she said I needed 'rest & quiet time'. I'm thinking yeah whatever. Then the next day I realised that this was going to be a cold so off I went & got all my herbal remedies etc... The day after that I am doing inhalations with the 'ol Vicks Vabour rub, extra Vit C, a herbal tonic, etc..
I pulled another Goddess card & she repeated her messages, quiet time, relax, don't think, don't do anything. Meditate & stay quiet.
However, I of course new better didn't I? So I had been catching up on reading about setting my business up etc.. etc.. but I was giving into the need of an afternoon nap & staying quiet so that will be enough.
By the 4th day I am usually over these things & pretty much on the mend. But I woke up & I felt dreadful. All I could do was sleep for most of the day or watch watch mindless tele. My brain had checked out. It just couldn't cope with any more information. It needed to process what was already going on.
I pulled another Goddess card & it was the same message AGAIN! Ok so this was becoming more than a joke now so I decided to completely give into this this lurgy & honour that there was something much deeper going on that needed to be brought to the surface & let go of. Okay so it was time to listen to some divine guidance now.
A couple more days went past & I was just getting worse. So against my normal preferences I went to the Dr & got some antibiotics because I had a really sore throat by now & an annoying cough! Yes for those of you slanted on the Spiritual side I was trying to cough something up & it had to be something really big this time. And for those of you what aren't Spiritually inclined ok I was very run down!
Just bear with me hear for those of you non spiritual. I have been kind to myself for such a long time now by consciously not putting anything toxic into my body both through food & thoughts. There are slip ups from time to time but hey I'm only human!
Some of the stuff I was coughing up had been there for years & I simply observed the gunk of negative thoughts, feelings & emotions that were surfacing. Now with a different perspective & wisdom on certain things I really embraced knowing that this was such a wonderful experience. Because once this was all out there is no way any of it is going back down & I now know how to prevent this.
The last couple of years I have wanted to change some aspects of my life & I was cruising along relatively happy but there was a but & I got to that point which was what I have isn't enough. There are so many things I want to do & with my current lifestyle these aren't going to be able to happen if I was to do what I wanted to do. I wasn't where I was wanting to be in some areas of my life at this stage of my life so I needed to step up for this. Big time!
So New Year's Eve this year I set these new intentions with a steely focus & determination making myself very clear to the Universe & Goddess. what these were. I made new decisions for the lifestyle I have chosen to have with absolute clarity. So I accepted the challenge to really 'step up' to a new way of being, knowing that at times it could get a little 'uncomfortble' but you just gotta do what you gotta do.
These past 10 days I have been able to process a lot of that 'old stuff' & let it go. I have a couple of very inspirational friends who are living the life of their dreams. And I knew them way before anything started to change. So I watched from the sidelines their process & the 2 things that they went through just before their lives skyrocted to how they envisioned them to be was they also got very sick with a similar illness.
So it gave me that warm fuzzy feeling of reassurance & excitement within.
I have had so many personal break throughs in the last week which is totally awesome & beautiful rewards are already coming to me.
I've decided to share this with you because I think Life is about tweaking certain things & reminding yourself what it is that your heart truly desires from time to time. It is about doing things that you love & invoke passion. And that was what I did on New Year's Eve, I reminded myself of the things that I have been & I am passionate about.
This is my secret when it comes to food. It is such an easy & effective thing to do.
I always ask my clients what their favourite foods are. We design a menu or program around that because they get back in touch with those feelings of passion that may have been suppressed. I want them to get to that point where for them the food tastes orgasmic! (that's how we as chef's rate food!) Something that can be so easily invoked & yet so easily forgotten about at the same time.
Is there something that you used to be passionate about & may have forgotten about? I encourage you to recognise that & include what ever it is into you life. I very much doubt you will go through the same proces I just have but it may depend on what caused you to shut that part of your life out.
In any respect be kind to yourself & start living life with passion in it everyday. You can do this with one of your favourite fruits or vegetable! It's that easy!
Until next week.
Stay safe & healthy!

The End of Summer in Oz
Welcome!
Wow it is the beginning of March already & the end of Summer in the Southern Hemisphere! Once again another year is starting to gain momentum very quickly.
I want to acknowledge all of the amazing Firefighters & Volounteers who jumped at the opportunity to help distressed fellow Australians. It was just heart wrenching watching the daily news of the many stories of heart ache & tragedy caused from the destruction of fire. And to think that some of those horrific fires were deliberately lit is just beyond comprehension. It is at times like this when you see National pride at it's best with everyone rallying around to help in any way they can. And to hear so many stories of bravery certainly gives you goose bumps. It will be a February that is going to be etched in Australian history forever now.
February proved to be both busy & at times challenging for me for all the right reasons in the end.
The month began with me being able to see Victoria & Valaya Boutenko talk on their Raw food journey live in Bondi which was so awesome. I thought Victoria is a true Earth Mother & very passionate about spreading the word of a Raw Food lifestyle. Considering her whole family were each cured of some pretty nasty diseases it is no wonder she wants everyone to know how easy it can be to make some changes to your diet that can save your life. They are Russian & were used to a diet filled with meat, potatoes, bread & fat & she believes that if they can make changes to their diet then anyone can. Let's just say she really knows her stuff & has researched & researched food & nutrition so you know you are in safe hands.
Victoria touched on a sensitive subject about one day how we could evolve to the point of eating insects for extra Vitamin B. Well that certainly got one audience member completely wound up! However, she handled him with dignity & respect the best way anyone could. Can't say I think I'll ever be a deliberate insect convert but swallowing the occasional fly is something that happens so now I know how good it is for me I'll try not to spit it back up so quickly!
February also included a trip to the Sunshine Coast for a few days with a Mastermind Group led by Sandy Forster & Dymphna Boholt. Wow what a weekend packed full of incredible information & people. I must say the added bonus of being in paradise added to the experience too!
Oh and February is also the month of my birthday, yes yet again!
The last couple of months have certainly been a huge learning curve & a journey that I am totally embracing. My first ebook, Wholesome Juices and Smoothies is finished now & I will be uploading it very soon. Or should I say once I learn how to do that!
So here is a recipe from the book for you to enjoy.
Until next time stay safe & I look forward to sharing another incredible month ahead.

Mixed Berry Zinger
¼ cup fresh or frozen strawberries
¼ cup fresh or frozen raspberries
¼ cup fresh or frozen blueberries
¼ cup fresh or frozen blackberries
½ lemon, juiced
2 mint sprigs
¼ cup soaked almonds or almond meal
¾ cup still or sparkling water, or your desired consistency
Place all the ingredients into the blender & liquidize fro approx 45 sec.
This is lovely & refreshing any time.
Strawberries are such delicious Summer and Autumn fruit. Like other berries they have a high content of anti-oxidants. They contain high levels of folate which is necessary during conception and pregnancy because it reduces the risks of spina bifida. Strawberries contain fibre to keep you regular, potassium which helps regulate blood pressure and reduces chances of a heart attack or a stroke.
Blackberries have a high content of tannins which is good for your digestive system. They have a slightly bitter taste which is a tonic to the liver. Blackberries have a high fibre content helping to keep cholesterol levels down. Blackberries contain Vitamin C which helps to repair and replenish cells in the body and keeps any potential cold at bay.

What's been going on...
Welcome
Wow time has flown since I last blogged & I am happy to say that I have been getting all of these new projects up & running. My new website http://www.thewholesomefoodcoach.com.au/ will be live within the next couple of weeks so stay tuned. What is it about you ask? All will be revealed very soon but I'll give you a hint. It has a huge focus on Raw Food. If you aren't ready to completely go Raw yet but need to learn how to tweak the way you prepare your food then this website is for you. I have had so many people ask me over the years for help to make changes in the way they prepare their food. It doesn't matter where you are starting from, the important thing is you are making a change. So now I am really excited because I can reach more of you on a regular basis and in all honestly it really doesn't have to be that hard. And for those of you who already Raw then I am really looking forward to connecting with you as well and keeping you inspired with new recipes and ideas.
My goodness I feel as though my life is changing right before my eyes and the more Raw foods I eat the quicker I am changing. I have noticed some huge changes as I have already mentioned in previous posts. I must admit I do have to give the sprouts, green smoothies, juices and salads credit for giving me the boost I have definitely needed over the last little while. Not only have they given me more energy but the nutrient packed sprouts, fruits, vegetables and nuts have given me the clarity I've needed to start realising my dreams. I have definitely needed clarity because I have some pretty big dreams to fulfill!
Eating a high Raw Diet really has given me this abundance of ideas. I tested the theory not so long ago and I felt awful from the 'not so good' foods I decided to eat. I want to keep myself in the zone so to speak and keep these ideas flowing because I love building The Wholesome Food Coach business! It is a very exciting time and I am simply ticking each idea off my list as it comes to fruition.
I have also been having some fun with getting the food photos for my new ebooks. The first one will be released with the new website. It has been such a wonderful learning curve for both myself and photographer Dougal Biggart from http://www.dbphotography.com.au/ . He is very creative with a passion for all types of photograpy and many of his shots show this. We first started experimenting food photography for my first website a couple of years ago and we have had fun with it ever since. I must say he has the patience of a Saint when it comes to dealing with me in the kitchen at times... he even made me get in the fridge for one of his assignment shots holding a fruit plate. I think he may have discreetly intimated that I needed cooling down, I would say it was the other way around! A chef getting too heated? Not sure about that.. but hey we have certainly eaten some great food and had a good laugh at the same time.
I have kept my diet uncomplicated by eating fresh and local fruits and vegetables with the addition of lots of greens keeping them in their natural state. I find this the best solution for me as I tend to have a tempermental digestive system from time to time and when under pressure a basic diet is good. Greens are alkalizing which means they calm down our digestive systems in times of pressure & stress.
Next week I will mention some of those wonderful beauty benefits you can because of Raw foods. Your skin really does start to shine and glow..
Have a wonderful week and stay healthy.
With love, warmth and radiance

January New Year Confessions
Welcome!
Happy New Year.
What a wonderful beginning to a wonderful year ahead. I am so excited about 2009 & so far it hasn't disappointed me.
I have been away on holidays for a couple of weeks at a beautiful place on the Mid North Coast of NSW Australia called Taree. A place that is very dear to my heart as it has the endless beaches, rainforests & countryside. For me it is just paradise & somewhere I go & I fully unwind.
Firstly, I must confess that I seemed to have enjoyed my 'familys food christmas treats' too much. And wow I have been suffering because of it.
I am sure you have done it once or twice before yourself or if you haven't then I wish I had your will power around food!
So the first week of 2009 I felt bloated & not how I had intended to feel at all. So I decided to have a good look at what was going on for me. It was all quite simple really I just got carried away with all the temptations of the festive season. Mmm I must also confess the 'ol afternoon siesta seemed to have slipped in there as well. It all sorta felt good at the time because it was so hot.. :)
Anyway I don't know about you but time & time again I seem to fall back into old eating patterns when I am with my family. It seems ridiculous really but it just is. Each time I have to brace myself & remind myself that it is okay & just don't eat as much. But I find it so hard sometimes especially when they are my old favourites to eat as well. And no-one cooks better than their own mother! Besides I'm not game enough to say no to her either!
Aside from all of that when I arrived home from spending time away I made the choice to change my diet to how I normally eat. Within a few days I am starting to feel fantastic again. With all the temptations of the Christmas goodies I gave myself some slack this year & enjoyed the moment with the delicious food. This time I just didn't eat as much of it. Although I did make sure that I added salads to my meals to keep in the Raw tangent.
I am back to eating well again & simply starting each day with at least one juice or smoothie. You know it is amazing what a difference these can do for you & your well being in such a short space of time. Oh did I mention my Wholesome Juice & Smoothie ebook will be available for you at the end of the month? I am so excited about it as well & I have had so much fun writing it. It is the first in a series that I have started writing. So watch out for the link here when it is ready.
So easing back into things I started my days with either a juice or smoothie & then moved onto having my usual salads for lunch & dinner & fruit for breakfast.
Lunch I have been making a salad with finely sliced cabbage, julienne of carrot, celery, parsley, baby spinach or rocket & loads of mung beans & sprouts. I toss it all together with a little bit of chardonnay vinegar & a lemon oil. And that is it.
This is so delicious, simple & scrumptious to eat. And the great thing about this salad is you can use it as a base for all sorts of combinations.
Here is an early morning cleansing juice for you to try.
Beetroot, Apple & Celery Juice
Makes approx 2 cups
4 medium sized beetroots, keep the tips on just wash it well
2 medium granny smith apples
4 celery stalks
Place all the ingredients into the Juicer & drink straight away.
It is such a good start for your liver this one & I love it.
If you want to replace some vitamins this smoothie is good as an anti-oxidant boost.
Blueberry, Blackberry, Strawberry & Lime Juice
Makes apprx 2 cups
250g blackberries
2 cups blueberries
250g strawberries
1 lime, keep the skin on if you want to
1 handful baby spinach (optional) you won't taste it & it is a good source of vitamins & minerals
Put the ingredients into the Blender & puree until smooth.
Drink straight away.
See how you feel trying each of these juices. Try one on one day & the other the next day. They are delicious & an example of what is in my up coming ebook.
Have a wonderful week & look forward to next week with you.
With love, warmth & radiance
