Spring is here..

Welcome,

It is the beginning of Spring today & the end of hibernation in the Southern Hemisphere!

It seems for many people Winter is a time for introspection & reflection. It is a great time to reasses & decide what it is that you want for Summer & the New Year.. a time to make plans quietly as you catch up on much needed rest at the same time.

I use the Winter months to do all of the above. I usually stay pretty quiet in anticipation for what is ahead. How about you? How do you usually handle your winter?

Do you catch up or are you a keen skier & spend as much time on the slopes as you can?

Now that it is Spring & the days are gradually becoming longer & warmer it is always so much easier to eat lightly. I've been experimenting with Raw Foods off & on for just on a year now & I've realised the best option for me is making the most of both worlds. During winter it wasn't as healthy for me to eat all raw. My body craved & needed some warming foods as well. When you are making changes to your diet it is best to do so intuitively because you will soon feel what is right & what is not. You just won't feel 100% within yourself & that was me.

Yes there are definitely many benefits of eating an all raw food diet but you do need to be careful at the same time because it isn't something that suits everyone.

Work was still very busy last week & the pressure was still on so my embarking in the 7 days of Raw Food just didn't work for me. I tried but it just wasn't that easy. Funnily enough I did want to wait until today in the beginning being the first day of Spring & as it turns out I have decided to start again this moring. I like to plan for these things properly so that is what I have done for this week.

I found this great little recipe to help you boost cleansing your colon for first thing in the morning. We need to cleanse the sludge from our colon so any healthy eating plan can work effectively.

Try this to get things going!

Lemon & Cayenne Drink

2 tbls fresh lemon juice
1 pinch cayenne pepper (helps to melt away fat!)
1 cup warm water

Then all you need to do is drink!

Here's to releasing that winter sludge....

Have a fabulous week.

The Smell of Spring in the Air...

Welcome,

What a wonderfully exciting time it has been over the last 14 days really.

The Wholesome Food Coach business is moving to a new level & I am really excited about it too. I've been doing my best in keeping up to date with your emails so if I fall behind a little please be patient. I will get back to you asap & please keep sending them as it lovely to be able to meet you.

As of tomorrow I have decided to do my 21 day raw program. I haven't been as diligent with my eating habits as I would have like to & have felt all over the place a bit emotionally because of it. I was so busy & feeling quite stressed I found myself going into default eating? Have you ever been able to relate to that? We are strange creatures at times, sometimes fighting ourselves & doing the opposite to what really makes us glow & feel so good at times. Or maybe this is just me? Sometimes it takes a few repeated lessons to learn what I need to learn & a foggy head certainly doesn't help! Anyway, now it is time for me to get things back in order & have an internal spring clean. The thing is I feel so amazing when I devote my meals to a balanced raw & living foods diet that I wonder why & what on earth happened to make me go off track?

I've set some more pretty big goals with the launching of new products over the next few months & the best way I know to be able to get everything done is to keep my body as clean internally & externally as possible. Not only that, eating raw foods certainly keeps your brain ticking with absolute clarity & you are filled with new creative ideas which is what I am looking forward to most.

I will write a little about how these next 7 days go as there are always up & down moments when you leave out those sabotaging foods. When clearing out toxins they are not only the toxins from your body but also from your emotions. I've written a 21 day program that will be run as a teleseminar so this is my last minute check by retesting what I have written which includes journalling to make sure I am able to give you the best I can possibly give you.
A great perk of my occupation I literally get to taste test first!

This weekend has been total bliss here in Sydney & yes once again I am fortunate enough to be able to pop over to the beach. Spring is definitely here as it is so warm & tonight I can smell the divine smell of flowers from the garden wafting in through the window. Especially jasmine. Gardens everywhere are now becoming full flowers & they just look so beautiful when out walking.

Soon it will be time to dry out some rose petals, crush them & then put them into a delicious summer drink. And even make a rose petal sorbet. yummm.. I'll post these recipes closer to Summer in my ezine.

If you want to sign up to my ezine as well as receive a FREE copy of my Wholesome Juices & Smoothies ebook then I would love to have you part of our community. In the ezine you will receive nutritional info on a chosen seasonal food with it's health benefits & a recipe so you can use the that ingredient straight away. You will also get a heads up on new products & special offers. If you haven't signed up yet you can do so here: http://www.thewholesomefoodcoach.com.au/

Until next week I hope you all have a very juicy week & stay healthy.

Managing Stress

Welcome,

How time flys yet again!

Wow we are into the middle of August already!

So now the adventures of The Wholesome Food Coach continue & this time in French's Forest. For those of you who don't know Sydney, this is on Sydney's Northern Beaches so I am only a 10minute drive to Dee Why & Curl Curl Beaches.. ahhh...

Today has been the most divine day so naturally some much needed R & R was had by walking along the beach for a couple of hours & really taking in that beautiful fresh ocean air.

What an extraordinary year this has been & in so many ways!

This year's focus as you would be aware is about building The Wholesome Food Coach. I absolutely love working on it creating new ideas, recipes & products to make your life easier in the kitchen. It has invoked that inner passion I had inadvertently put away for a little while & feels so amazing to have let the genie out of the bag & taste it again!

In saying that I have had to really watch my stress management lately as I have been working so hard on focussing on my 'goal's that I have let other things go so my health was starting to suffer. So this weekend has been about honouring other aspects of my life to keep the energy of passion alive.

I've been looking around the city lately & listening to many people & they sound as though they are suffering similar things. So many people seem to be so stressed these days. Is this happening to you? Are you feeling some niggling feelings that something isn't quite that is a pure product of stress?

Are you busy trying to achieve various things in your life that some areas have become out of balance? Or are you simply trying to cope with keeping your job & head above water? The effects of the stock market appear to be really affecting people on all sorts of levels & mostly their health even more so now.

I encourage you to take a deep breath & step back for a moment. Usually you can sense things are getting a bit hectic so instead of exercising you put it off until tomorrow but then the next day comes & you don't have time then either. Exercise is such a good way to keep those stress levels down. Although it may not be exercise for you it maybe doing something with a loved one or finding the time for a day in nature, massage or finishing that favourite book you have been meaning to do.

If you are feeling stressed at the moment here are some simple tips that can help you if you need some nurturing & a little stress management.
  • spend 10mins each day doing some deep breathing & finding that quiet place within you

  • soak in a bath with your favourite oils & candles

  • go for a 5 - 10min walk or longer during lunch time at work if you are feeling overwhelmed to clear your head

  • spend some time in nature

  • have some play time with your children or pets being as silly as they are & have a good laugh

  • include more raw greens into your diet as they have a calming effect on you

You can start with any one of these or maybe you have your own suggestions that you can email me so I can share with everyone else.

I hope these tips are able to help manage any stress that you maybe feeling & just remember prevention is better than cure & be kind to yourself.

Remember to smell the roses.

Until next week have a wonderful week & stay safe.

With love, warmth & radiance
